PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

D.L. Howell & Associates was contracted by West Goshen Township to become part of the design team in conjunction with their new Streets Department Facility proposed within their current Municipal Complex.  The Township needed to upgrade their facility to better serve the needs of the community and to provide a place to house their maintenance department and equipment. In doing so the Township developed a plan that included a 40,000 SF Office/Warehouse building with associated parking and outdoor storage areas.  

The project was funded by the Township, and also included a new salt shed and brine manufacturing station.  The new construction required changes to the existing parking layout and stormwater management system.  An existing underground stormwater bed was relocated and redesigned to incorporate additional flows.  The new impervious surfaces associated with the building and rear paved area prompted D.L. Howell to design an underground storm water management and infiltration system in order to comply with state and local regulations. D.L. Howell conducted infiltration tests throughout the rear portion of the property and designed a shallow stone bed that met all PaDEP guidelines.

D.L. Howell worked closely with the Township and contractors throughout the planning and construction process to make sure all expectations were met and within the timeline necessary to have construction start on-time.  As our office gets the opportunity to do a lot of work in and around the West Goshen area, we are proud that we could be a part of this great project that will help better serve the community for years to come.
